The Cancer Lifeline, Dorothy S. O'Brien Center is the culmination of 25 years of dreaming, planning and hard work. It is an open and caring place, started by experienced professionals and trained volunteers -all committed to providing support to all people living with cancer. The building was named in honor of Dorothy S. O'Brien, a cancer survivor who knew the importance of choice and control for a person living with cancer. The Dorothy S. O'Brien Center was opened on May 12, 1999. Renovated from the old Puget Consumer Co-op (PCC) in the Green Lake/Phinney neighborhood, it is beautifully designed and built. The Dorothy S. O'Brien Center's warm and nurturing environment is host to classes, programs, and administrative offices. It is accessible to participants -cancer survivors, family, friends, and co-workers throughout the greater Seattle metropolitan area. Cancer Lifeline's second floor is packed with wonderful art by class participants. On the first floor, professional exhibits are hung three to four times yearly.
