Position Titles: Luncheon Committee Event Chair and Co-Chair

Hours: 4 hours a month April through January and 20 hours a month January through March.
Cancer Lifeline provides non-medical support to all people affected by cancer. Located near Green Lake, Cancer Lifeline is one of Seattle's oldest cancer support service organizations and began with a 24 hour toll free "lifeline" in 1973. Today, Cancer Lifeline has support services and programs in 16 Western Washington counties including three partner hospitals; Valley Medical Center, Evergreen Hospital and Medical Center and Northwest Hospital. Cancer Lifeline's mission is to optimize the quality of life for all people living with cancer.
Cancer Lifeline is looking for a person with interest and experience in fundraising and event planning to join our Luncheon Committee. The Cancer Lifeline luncheon is held to prominently showcase our mission and its impact. Our primary objective is to recruit a person with fresh ideas, strong leadership abilities and is excited about representing Cancer Lifeline and our mission.
Strong networking and stewardship skills, along with previous non-profit or event planning experience is a plus.

Requirements
Event Chair
The event chair is responsible implementing all aspects of Cancer Lifeline's annual Luncheon. The chair works in partnership with the director of development to create fundraising goals and action plan.
The chair person ensures event planning is on track and works closely with co-chair and other committee members to facilitate activity completion.
- Develop theme
- Solicit corporate sponsorships
- Lead monthly committee meetings
- Plan and review event program/timeline
- Hosts table
- Secures additional table captains
- Secures additional support (in-kind, financial etc.)
- Prepare updates for Board meetings
- Solicit support from Board of Directors
Co-Chair
The chair "in training" will chair the next year's event. The co-chair is responsible for assisting the event chair person and managing the weekly meetings including:
- Solicit corporate sponsorships
- Schedule monthly committee meetings
- Preparing meeting agendas
- Send meeting recaps
- Following up on assigned action items
- Plan/review event timeline with director of development
- Host a table
- Secures additional table captains
- Secures additional support (in-kind, financial etc.)
The co-chair works in conjunction with the chair person and the development director on ensuring the Luncheon is on track.
