Blue skies
and warm weather greeted the golfers playing in the scramble golf event
for Cancer Lifeline supporters Sept. 8th. Ten teams hit Coal Creek, the
signature course at The Golf Club at Newcastle, promptly at 8:00 a.m.
While some players described the 7,000-yard course as “challenging,”
many agreed the clear panoramic views of the water and city made for a
memorable morning of golf.
Thanks
to all who participated, including the Team Captains; special thanks to
volunteers Jeannie Clough, Jan Dalrymple, Chuck Hammond and Susan
Johnson for their help at the event. Cancer Lifeline extends its
gratitude to Dwight Funai, Pat Hill, Marion Moriarty, Charlie Powers,
Bill Rex, and The Golf Club at Newcastle for the generous donation of
tournament prizes.
