Community Health Representative Conference

Cancer Lifeline hosted the “Wheel of Hope Conference" in September.  This was the 2^nd annual conference for Native American Community Healthy Representatives (CHRs) from Oregon, Idaho and Washington tribes. The three-day event focused on cancer education and support for these hard-working individuals. 

Guest speakers included John Simmons from the South Puget Sound Intertribal Planning Association, Brenda Manuelito from Native People for Cancer Control, David Sugarman from Cancer Lifeline and Melany Cueva from Alaska Tribal Health Consortium. 

CHRs had an opportunity to not only increase their cancer training but to network and hear what other tribes were doing around the topic of cancer.  Harmony Hill provided a beautiful space for them to unwind, take a deep breath and care for themselves.
