Nibbles & Noshes

On Tuesday, April 27, 2010, Cancer Lifeline joined our hospital partner Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in an event designed to address the needs of those effected by Oral, Head & Neck cancers and increase awareness of the new Oral, Head & Neck cancer support group starting on May 12, 2010. 

The event was a success with over 60 participants attending! Throughout the evening cancer experts shared information about nutrition, current medical treatments, and the importance of receiving emotional support.  Patient stories were shared and resource information was provided.  The evening’s highlight included a showcase of incredible foods from local chef’s Renatto Medranda (Westin Hotel, Bellevue), Shane Lynch (Evergreen Hospital Medical Center), Sandra Watson (Trellis), Jon Severson, Michael Lombardi, Nick Wash (Qwest Field) which were designed to be appealing, nutritious and easy to eat.  After the speaker presentations and the questions and answers time came to a close, those attending were treated to a performance by Lee Oskar, member of the Lowrider Band (and founding member of War) along with local musicians Kile Jackson and Tim Lerch, members of the band The Hitmen.
